A close friend of mine just recently experienced the loss of her husband. They had been married only a few short years and she is devastated by his sudden passing. I can’t imagine how she feels, but she seems to be holding up pretty well, all considering. She is in the process of getting all of the life insurance policy, bank accounts, charge cards, and titles in order and has taken advantage of a free credit report online to find some of the information that she needs to get her finances on track. Since she has all of his personal information on hand, it wasn’t hard to get into his credit report, glad that she did because she found all kinds of things about his finances that she had no idea about.
What a major head ache to have to deal with. She is lucky that her mother and her have a good relationship and that she lives so close by. Her mother has been there for her through thick and thin and I’m grateful for that, since we live so darn far away these days. I can give her support via email, IM and phone calls, but there is nothing like someone being right there by your side to help guide and support you in times such as these.
